Retained Competent Advice

Regulation 13 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires specific considerations to be made when an employer entrusts tasks with health, safety and welfare implications to employees. In particular, the employer should ensure that those tasks are within the employee’s ability, so as to not put themselves, or others at risk. So employers must ensure that those employees who have specific health and safety responsibilities are competent.

Competence should be ascertained on the basis of professional qualifications, experience and the physical and mental characteristics that are suited to fulfil the tasks.

The Consultants or Safety Practitioners at ASIS Risk Management have years of experience in a broad spectrum of industries, covering; construction, fire service, engineering, explosives safety, care sector, military and retail. We are not desk bound and will encourage the customer to use our services on the front line helping to manage their Safety Management System.

We will support the employee who has the day to day responsibility of health, safety and welfare by providing on-line support, telephone support, site visits, training and audits.

We are keen to provide solutions that may increase production levels, project the positive image of the company whilst ensuring accidents and injuries are kept as low as is possible.  To help ensure this we have developed a web based SMS on our home page (see clent area) in which the client can manage the passing of information to its employees; such as risk assessments, policy and other guidance.  So no more looking for where the information is stored we give you it one place that can be accessed globally.

Prior to the Consultancy Agreement (Retainer) being drawn up we may wish to carry out an audit of the company’s current SMS. The audit will list all the observations made and any actions required. It will also prioritise tasks for the client and may also provide costs. The price for the audit starts at £450.00
