Display Screen Equipment (DSE)

The term Display Screen Equipment refers to any computer screen that shows graphics and text - so this includes all VDUs, VDTs and monitors.

The regulations, which have been effective since 1993, require amongst other things that all staff deemed to be 'users' (a user is defined as someone who uses DSE equipment for a significant part of their working day ) must undergo a workstation analysis and risk assessment to ensure that any risks are reduced and managed.

This course gives staff the general knowledge needed to correctly identify workstation hazards and apply simple and effective corrective measures to ensure their continued safe use.
